Travel Guides : Old tradition in Mae Hong Son
Between March 25 and April 15, Mae Hong Son province will hold the annual Poi Sang Long – the ordination of novices – from the Thai Yai ethnic group.
It is a moving and colourful spectacle with a grand procession of the young novices through the pretty town. Other highlights include drum processions and Thai Yai cultural performances.
The event is hosted by Mae Hong Son municipality, Jong Kam Klang Temple and Hua Wiang Temple.
