An apartment stay in Rawai
Happy Eight Resort Phuket is at 79/48 Soi Samakee 5, off Saiyuan Road, in Rawai. It is an apartment-style property in the Rawai and Nai Harn area, with an outdoor pool and garden. This is an inland base for southern Phuket rather than accommodation opening directly onto a beach.
The apartment format is its most useful distinction. A kitchen and living space give the stay a different rhythm from a room chosen simply as somewhere to sleep after a beach day. Breakfast or a quiet meal at home can form part of the holiday, while the pool offers somewhere to spend time without leaving the property.
Room categories and cooking facilities
Published room information includes one-bedroom suites with pool or mountain views. The described suites are 55 square metres, with a bedroom, bathroom, balcony or terrace and kitchen. The view category therefore deserves attention: the accommodation offered should match the outlook a guest expects.
Hotels.com lists a separate dining area and living room, together with refrigerators and microwaves. Its kitchen information also includes cookware, a toaster and coffee-making equipment. Those are specific self-catering facilities, although a particular unit’s current inventory remains more useful than assuming every small appliance is identical.
In January 2025, mattydred described a large bed and a kitchenette with a fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster and hob. The account also mentioned a small pool and quiet neighbourhood. An October 2019 guest, Penny U, likewise described an apartment with a garden pool and Wi-Fi.

Recent guests on comfort and condition
Marghoob Hussein’s January 2026 account praised the room size, cleanliness and staff, while describing the furniture as a little dated. That is a helpful distinction: comfort and helpful service can coexist with furnishings that are no longer new.
Andy, writing in July 2025, liked the spacious accommodation and clean pool, but reported disturbance from other guests playing music outside. The same account felt the kitchen and living area needed air conditioning. Linda’s July 2025 report also praised the spacious flat and staff, while mentioning weaker air conditioning in a top-floor room on a later visit.
These individual experiences give a more rounded picture than treating a quiet neighbourhood as a promise of silence. They also suggest that bedroom cooling and the temperature of the living space are separate questions within an apartment layout.
Time around the pool and garden
The published facilities include an outdoor pool, garden, terrace, parking and laundry services. They support a stay where guests alternate between outings and time in the apartment. Airport transport is listed, but its presence among facilities does not establish a free transfer.
Daily servicing appeared in Penny U’s older account and in the published amenities. That is useful context, but the arrangement attached to the booked accommodation should determine expectations, especially for a longer stay. A serviced apartment can offer domestic space without every service operating like that of a full resort.
The listed laundry facilities are particularly relevant to the self-catering format: they make practical sense alongside a kitchen during an extended visit. They describe an available facility, however, rather than promising that a personal laundry allowance is bundled into every room rate.
Where it fits best
Happy Eight’s strongest combination is a reasonably generous apartment layout, facilities for preparing food and a small pool setting. It is particularly appealing when the room itself will be used during the day, rather than serving only as a base for late returns.
The more recent comments point to welcoming staff and comfortable space, with dated furniture and cooling limitations in some accounts. Those trade-offs favour a guest who values the apartment format over a polished resort finish. Being in Rawai also means planning the beach visit as an outing rather than expecting direct sand access from the property.
