The Night Bazaar side of Chiang Mai
S-Trips the Poshtel, also written as S*Trips or STrips, is a Chiang Mai hostel associated with the Night Bazaar area. It is outside the moated Old City rather than directly inside it. That distinction helps explain why some visitors liked the location while others would have preferred accommodation closer to the Old City's streets.
The property has been listed with shared dormitory accommodation as well as private-room options. The property photographs include a double bed and an interior corridor. A private-room photograph therefore should not be assumed to represent a dormitory bed booking.
Space mattered to the dorm guests
An August 2019 Tripadvisor visitor described a ten-bed dormitory with a comfortable, thick bed and clean toilets. A November 2018 guest also found the dormitory spacious and the showers large and clean. These dated accounts give a useful picture of what those travellers valued: room to move and washing facilities that did not feel cramped.
The November account was less enthusiastic about breakfast, describing simple toast and cereal, and pointed out that other hostels were closer to the Old City. That is more helpful than calling the location universally convenient. A trip built around the Night Bazaar and one centred on the walled city can favour different addresses.

Helpful staff in the historical reports
A September 2019 backpacker praised the staff's advice about trips and activities. Taken with the other reports, the property appears to have appealed to travellers who wanted shared accommodation with practical assistance, rather than a resort with a long list of leisure facilities.
The age of the detailed accounts is the main limitation. Breakfast, dorm configurations and staffing should not be assumed unchanged since those stays. The most relevant reasons to consider S-Trips are the Night Bazaar setting and its mix of shared and private accommodation; the specific booked category decides which experience you are choosing.
