An apartment base near Big Buddha

Anam Cara at 14/56 Moo 5, Bophut, offers apartment-style accommodation in Koh Samui’s Big Buddha area. The choice is less about selecting a standard hotel room and more about finding the right combination of bedrooms, living space and outlook. The property listings include an outdoor swimming pool, parking and balconies, while guest accounts repeatedly mention generous accommodation and views.

For companions who want to stay together, an apartment can make evenings and downtime easier than splitting across separate hotel rooms. At Anam Cara, however, the categories differ substantially. The name alone does not establish how many bedrooms, beds or cooking facilities will be available in your reservation.

Compare the actual apartment layouts

Gites.fr’s room tables list four categories ranging from 40 to 146 square metres. The 130-square-metre two-bedroom apartment is listed for four people, with a large double bed and two singles. A 146-square-metre two-bedroom category accommodates five, using a large double plus another double and a single. The 95-square-metre pool-view apartment is listed with two double bedrooms and marked as ground floor; a smaller one-bedroom category is also offered.

The 130-square-metre category includes a seating area, sofa and desk, balcony, air conditioning and a kitchen with oven, stovetop, refrigerator and microwave. A bath and walk-in shower are listed for that apartment. Check these details against the booked category, since the larger apartment’s equipment should not be assumed in the smaller option.

Bed configuration is particularly important for friends or families. Two bedrooms do not necessarily mean the same sleeping arrangements in every apartment. Decide whether twin beds or doubles work for your party before comparing the offers, and confirm bathroom arrangements if several adults will share.

Views can involve extra stairs

An undated Booking.com excerpt from Einarsen in Canada describes apartment 3 as having striking views, two bedrooms, a living area and kitchen/dining space. The same guest explicitly mentions extra stairs and no elevator. That makes the access question inseparable from choosing a preferred outlook.

A ground-floor category appears in the room tables, but that does not establish a completely step-free route from the street or parking area. Anyone who finds stairs difficult should ask about the entire arrival route and request the relevant apartment. For other travellers, checking how luggage reaches the door may be enough to make the choice more comfortable.

What dated visitors liked

Quinten K’s January 2026 family review on Tripadvisor praised large, clean rooms, a peaceful atmosphere and helpful owners. A November 2025 report by Егор Б, translated from Russian, valued the accommodation and owner’s assistance. Carey B’s review posted in February 2024, following a January stay, described spacious, clean accommodation, comfortable bedding, a bath and shower, and ocean views from their balcony.

These reports give the strongest support to choosing Anam Cara for space and a relaxed apartment stay. They remain descriptions of particular visits and rooms: neither the view nor every bathroom feature should be promised across the inventory. Requesting the exact apartment details is more useful than assuming that one guest’s favourite balcony will accompany every booking.

Everyday services and arrival

Chiangdao’s property information lists air conditioning, cable television, a microwave and coffee equipment, with full oven kitchens in selected accommodation. It also lists parking, a paid airport shuttle and car rental. Its arrival note asks guests to notify the property of their expected arrival time, a useful step when coordinating a flight or ferry.

Other Booking.com guests describe helpful practical arrangements. In undated excerpts, Jack reports optional bike rental and laundry, while Scott says staff arranged delivery of a rental motorcycle and recommends contacting them for arrival directions. Confirm any such service and its charge directly; a past guest’s arrangement is not a standing inclusion.

Anam Cara is most compelling when you want living space, a pool and the possibility of a sea-view balcony as part of a longer island stay. Choose the apartment first, resolve stair access and arrival arrangements, and then compare the total booking terms. That approach keeps the stay centred on the features that distinguish this small apartment property.
